Touch of Woo....
May. 9th, 2009 10:49 amI've come to a conclusion from a couple of decades of dealing with Landwights; that They prefer Attention and Enrichment to Sacrifices. For those of us living outside our Ancestor's Lands, the Lore isn't all that helpful. Even there some prefered Blood while others found it Anathema. Here in the States you have Native as well as Immigrant Wights, all with different preferences per various sources.
I'm not a big fan of the Idea that Intention beats Insult. If you don't know, don't DO. I mean this in a Ritualistic sense. Take for instance something I've seen done 'run hyar', a generic Newage "Native American" Offering of Tobacco and Corn Pollen.Seems Innocent, right? Well, separating out any non-American Wights, the local tribes didn't use EITHER. In fact, those that would raid their villages and take Slaves did. The local Band isn' a help either, since they moved in AFTER the local Peoples were Weakened by Smallpox and enslaved the survivors. This is all happening AFTER Pensacola was Founded....
IME, Paying Attention Respectfully as well as being a good warden of your Lands will do more than all that you "Sacrifice"...
Truth,
Pat
