"Don't you Beleive in God?"
Jun. 17th, 2011 07:38 amThe Eternal Question I get from the members of a handful of Christian denominations that sell their particular church door-to-door in my neighborhood('course, each considers itself the only "real" one and the others cheap Chinese Knockoffs;>). For those who are Polytheistic in Outlook, it's a generally a really Annoying one.
Yes, I DO. I happen to Beleive in a number of Them. I just don't Follow the Tribal god of the Hebrews and the demigod Yeshua ben Yusef. The problem with Monotheists is that they can't wrap their minds around the view that others consider thier Deity-Of Choice(which generally isn't, it's their parents who did the Choosing for them...)as just One in a Multitude, no more or less valid than anyone else's Deity or Deities. It's kinda like eating the same kind of breakfast that your parents fixed for you and when looking at someone else's idea of breakfast saying, "THAT'S not a REAL BREAKFAST! THIS is a REAL BREAKFAST!!!";>.
I Honestly don't mind them and my Christian friends as long as they're Polite about it. I Understand that by their religion's view, they're being Caring. 'Course, by mine, it's no different than "Poaching";>. Maybe that's why I'm so Tolerant...my twisted sense of Humour. After all, aren't they trying to "steal" folks from my Gods and Goddesses atthe same time as touting their "Goodness";>....
It's amazing how the same "scenery" changes depending on the Perscpective;>.
Cheers,
Pat
