Forgiveness....
Jan. 29th, 2012 11:59 amOn a blog I read, the poster had stated that he wasn't ready to Forgive his brother for trying to Kill the rest of the family 25 yrs ago and the Smurfs were not happy about his "Mean Spiritedness". Luckly for me, I'm not a member of a religion that requires such. Personally? I don't Beleive in "Unconditional" Forgiveness. If you want me to Forgive you for acts against "Me and Mine", you have to SHOW that you are working toward making it up. None of this, "I'm Sorry, now you Forgive me and it's as if it never Happened". THAT part is NEVER going to HAPPEN. Even those I have Forgiven, I NEVER Forget what they DID. As far as I'm concerned, I TRUSTED you and you BROKE that TRUST. Betrayal is the "touchiest" of my "buttons". AS far as I'm concerned, you are on Lifetime Probation.
What I really don't get is today's culture where it's considered "no biggie" to stab someone in the back and use those two "magic" words and it's erased...so you can do it again. 'Course, we don't live in an Honorable Culture at Present here in America. Watching "Values Voters" flock around a man who dumped two wives while they were Ill for his mistresses at the time is a blatent example of this.
On the Positive side, this makes having a Chronic, Potentially Fatal disease a "Good Thing", since I don't see things changing before the EOTWAWKI before the turn of the century.
Cheers,
Pat
