Got the backyard brushwacked, mowed, de-puppybombed and Fireant hills poisoned just in time to get a call telling me that due to weather they aren't comming today to put in the new furnace-A/C. Hey! If I could do all that...why couldn't they? And half of their work is Indoors;>.
This just added to the general "curmudgeonliness" of meself this week. A big reason is coming up Thursday when I have my 1st appt with the Diabetes Councilor.
Now, I can Understand why the staff of the Health Dept tend to think their average client doesn't have brains enough to come out of the Rain. I've been i client there for the last decade and had to watch in the Waiting Room. Also, I used to do Medicare Nursing before I "retired", usually stuff that I always thought an average 6 yr old could do.
HOWEVER,there's that durn Medical Record of 15 YEARS of info INCLUDING my previous job. So, when the inevitable remedial lecture starts, I have to either:
Waste my time as not to tick off someone who could "lose" a med refill(happened)or try to mention previous education on subject General and Personal without getting labelled "difficult" and find my appts being very much NOT at my "convienience". But hey! At least I HAVE care. Chuck doesn't have anything but "doc-in-the-box"es and ER's until his Medicare kicks in in 2 yrs. We'd actually a couple times thought seriously of me Infecting him with HIV just so he would be elegible for BASIC healthcare. One "Good Thing" about the cocktail taking out yet another gland is that now I can monitor Chuck's Blood Glucose(he's been "Pre-Diabetic" for yrs but unlike me has a family history)so there'll be less wasted money on ER visits for simply Hypoglycemia.
