This was my 1st aids documentary, and I highly recommend it, esp. for those Hets who were adults during the 80's and 90's and Gays that turned adult after the late 90's....many of whom both then and now don't Beleive us about what we went through or DID just sto SURVIVE.
I hadn't watched them before because, quite plainly I LIVED through thse yrs and was still pretty Angry at how we were treated. Even my folks didn't Beleive me because, as my Dad put it, "Americans don't treat Americans that way". Even though it's seen through the NY community, the Experience was pretty much the same everywhere in the states...and many places WORSE. After all, NY is a "Liberal" city, right?
It was nice though to see a few events that I'd been at(and who knows, may be somewhere in the background;>). I remember one of the bits on the doc because it was the day on the Mall that I found an exes' quilt...
Cheers,
Pat

It's been pretty "meh" here at Hummingbird Home the last couple of weeks. The weather snapped back to normal, meaning lots of Freeze damage to plants lured out of Dormancy by the warm Temps, esp at night. I had someone raid my garden, taking all my Daikon Radishes and my back went out again. On the latter I should be grateful, after all, I have a ruptured disk so that I'm not ALWAYS in spasm is a Blessing....
Dad dropped by a "Giftbag" from my brother and his wife a couple days ago, which was a nicething. Both are big Techies and now that their kids have Graduated college, the stuff that used to get handed down to them gets so to us! It was a bag of I-pods of various models and accessories so I able to give Chuck the Classic that I was given a couple yrs ago and take the 2nd Gen Nano with the local radio attachment. There was also one of those stereo-things that you dock them to. It was a Good Thing that I'd given Chuck the Classic because it's base was too wide to fit in the dock...but the Nano is Just Right! It's been kind of nice listening to music I haven't, sometimes for more than a decade again.
We had one of the not-so-unusual experiences of MLK Day this AM. We went in to Chuck's Dentist for further "fiddling" on his journey toward Choppers and after a 1/2hr wait they told us that the lab that was supposed to deliver the bits(and is only 3 doors down from the D's office)didn't and isn't answering their phones. When I pointed out that it was MLK Day, they went, "Oh, they must be closed then". The only thing I have about the holiday is that there is no rhyme nor reason on who or who does not close for it. The Post Office and Banks are easy, since they close for Nat'l Clean Underwear Day but other businesses?
I really do wish I was techie enough to get Hulu through my TV 'cause my
puter desk and chair are NOT the more Ergonomic;>.
Cheers,
Pat
