This was my 1st aids documentary, and I highly recommend it, esp. for those Hets who were adults during the 80's and 90's and Gays that turned adult after the late 90's....many of whom both then and now don't Beleive us about what we went through or DID just sto SURVIVE.
I hadn't watched them before because, quite plainly I LIVED through thse yrs and was still pretty Angry at how we were treated. Even my folks didn't Beleive me because, as my Dad put it, "Americans don't treat Americans that way". Even though it's seen through the NY community, the Experience was pretty much the same everywhere in the states...and many places WORSE. After all, NY is a "Liberal" city, right?
It was nice though to see a few events that I'd been at(and who knows, may be somewhere in the background;>). I remember one of the bits on the doc because it was the day on the Mall that I found an exes' quilt...
Cheers,
Pat
