The Late Winter Garden....
Feb. 4th, 2019 09:59 amIn most of the USA it's Midwinter but here in "The Dangly Bits" It's late. In 4-6 weeks the last Frost date will hit and now is the time to plant or divide Dormant plants.
Since I'm pretty sure this is the Persimmon's last yr I ordered a multi cultivar dwarf Asian pear tree. Unfortunately, the nursery didn't secure it in the box and it had 3 of 4 grafted branches broken. Only one is worrisome, since it's got only one viable node. Potted it up but all the local pots available were a bit small so next time this month I'm in Destin or FWB I'll stop at a Home Depot and pick one up. Also planted Cyclamen bulbs, Fern rhisomes and some Nasturtium seeds in hanging pots. Repotted the Nun's Orchids too.
Got everything Pruned and fertilized with Organic. Tomorrow(because I'm pooped;>!) I'll be removing two ugly Azalea bushes and replace them with a nice dbl White Hydrangea. Then I can start the clearing of Winterkilled veg and Weed.....
Cheers,
Pat
