More Mindless Material!
Apr. 24th, 2008 06:56 amOther than planting a few things and harvesting some rare Pollen for a Botanist friend of mine I took yesterday off as a Wallow in Mindless Activity...a Movie Marathon! I've got 3 that while not spectaclar are fun:
'Cloverfield'-A good romp though for us old folks that don't spend all our time Gaming or watching stuff we've filmed with our camera-phones to "Blair WItch" filming technique gets old. I wish they'd shown less of the monster though. It was more effective before you saw the silly ET face....
'Night of the Living Dead3-D'-barely making the list but for Intentional and Unintentional Humor. You get an Idea how things are going to go when it starts AS the original, the camera backs away and you see it's a TV playing the original but when you look out the window behind it you see the original landscape. Filmed in a lot of the original locations this version set today has good and bad points. The folks in the house are not refugees but a family of Pot farmers who are watching the original movie when "Barbara" storms in warning them about the Zombies. Stoners and Dealers dealing with Zombies...
'Zombie Town'- A lot of fun with a lot in common with the humor of 'Shawn of the Dead'. Rednecks VS. Zombies. To give you an idea a bitten granny "turns" at Bingo, infecting the other grannies who all go to visit their kids. Those once Infected head down to where their Teen offspring are doing what they usually do in small towns;>.
Cheers,
Pat
