As you all've noticed, I don't watch much Modern Western stuff. There's a reason for it....one of my top pet Peeves, BETRAYAL.
Nowadays, you can't even have a Romance without some Conspiracy backstory so the characters you've developed Interest in either get stabbed in the back or do the stabbing. A good example was the new American 'Terra Nova' series. Within the 2nd episode I was "over" it. Here was the chance for a good old fashioned Adventure series and they had to fuk it up.
Conspiracy is part of our Western culture now. Or political parties fan the flames, ignoring that once Paranoid, the Great Unwashed Masses aren't going to put it aside when the "Flamers" are in POWER. Politics, Religion even Food.
TRUST!?! That's gone decades before. All that's left is a civilization based on Distrust and Selfishness.
I'm sooo glad I'm both Gay and have aids. No kids and a limited lifespan...hoping I "cack out" while the Grid is still up.

*sigh* I have two nieces and a nephew, and no fatal disease other than age.

I'll probably be here to see whatever happens, and my younger relatives almost certainly will be.

I hope what happens is reform, and believe that's more than possible. But not, alas, 100% certain.

One of the things about getting older is finally Understanding the attitude of older people when I was young and full of "Fire" to "Change the World". I now know many of them had felt just the same as we did, did what they could and were dissapointed by that they couldn't.....and for doing it again, completely "over it".
The thing about "COnspiracy Space" is that it allows you an "out" for personal responsibility. It's not your actions that're making the world worse....it's THEM.

Love the icon, Pat. The conspiracy theory stuff is really getting old. I mean, the show would have been truly entertaining without it, but it seems we can't have anything anymore without some kind of conspiracy attached.

When it 1st started in the late 70's I was sort of for it since, well there WERE Conspiracies about shady political goingson but we all know it now so it's just annoying...it's like someone telling us being Overweight is Bad....M'kay?;>
