mdehnersI can SORT OF Understand staying with an Abusive Partner. After all I did(Emotionally, not Physically). However, my "excuse" was that I was 21, Gay and in a Concervative area...I didn't figure I had a lot of prospects. This lasted until the relationship exploded massively and I promised myself I'd rather be Alone than go through anything like this again. I also "got over" the "Fixer-Upper" concept that a lot of other Gays and Het Women have. You can't "fix" anyone but yourself.
I guess that's a big reason I don't have a lot of sympathy for folks over 30 who continue to do this. As the saying goes, Stupid is doing the same thing over and over expecting something DIFFERENT. "If Only" is an EVIL phrase and when a friend states it, I generally blow up. "IO" means the person they're involved with is Ill(if not actively Evil) and they're Behavior is Damaging....PERIOD.
"If Only" Mars had a breathable Atmosphere and a functioning Magnetic Field you wouldn't die on it's surface.....
