mdehnersAfter today I'm esp glad I used some of my COVID Cash to order some high end Japanese Rice. In the last yr I've learned a lot about a grain I've been eating all my life:
Washing makes a difference
Quality matters
Different cultivars ARE different
Just as a Red Delicious and a Granny Smith Apple taste markedly different so can Rice cultivars. I've been a fan of Koshihikari for yrs but with my CC I ordered a sample of a number of different cultivars. Tonight's is Yumeprika. Sweeter and more sticky than Koshihikari, I think it'll make esp good Riceballs because just plain it's delicious!
