I'm tired. I'm tired of fighting Battles alone (for the most part...)due to either the Over-Organizing or Obsessive Consensus Building of others. The whole thing is summed up in a Apocryphal story from the early days of the aids Epidemic...probably long-forgotten(if ever heard...). It goes like this:
Once apon a Time, all the different communities affected by hiv/aids got together to work on a "Game Plan" to both combat the disease AND fight the discrimination those Afflicted dealt with. A couple yrs later, everyone's "Issues" had been dealt with, everyone's "Agendas" had been included and finally the Battle could begin (ignoring, of course ALL those who had Fallen while they worked on "Consensus Building"...). Just as the many-paged document was about to be ratified by these "August" personages someone "piped up" from the back, "WHAT ABOUT THE LESBIANS OF EL SALVADOR!?!?". The "Consensus" then fell apart argueing and each group went their own way....
Of course, the "Moral" of the story is obvious to ANYONE who's EVER worked in groups...EVERYONE can't be PLEASED, yet there are folks that both refuse to see that and/or that their Agendas(personal or group) are more important than the Greater Good. Maybe it is better to spend your Energy with YOUR GROUP working toward that Greater Good than to waste so much time placating those who, while AGREE on the GOAL, disagree with HOW, WHAT, WHEN,WHERE and WITH WHOM to Work with to Acheive it....

Pat
