I shouldn't feel this way. After all, I could be Wrong(WHAT?! MOI< G >?!?!) but watching folks running around like chickens with their heads cut off has been amusing. You see, I've been through hurricanes before. While Meteorologists ARE good at figuring out basically when one is to make Landfall, the where really isn't detectible until about 24 hrs before...within 500 miles. That's still a bit of "wiggle-room"...
While both Erin and Opal gave me a sinking feeling when I 1st heard of each, none this yr has. Ivan has come the closest, but He "feels" about the same as a big Thunderstorm would so I'm not worried. Of course, I'm also not an Idiot< G >!
We're pretty much always prepared as ANYONE should who lives in a Disaster-Prone region...Earthquake, Hurricane or Tornadoe. The way I try to put it to folks, think of a week or longer camping trip and what you'd absolutely need. Then add the things that would make it more pleasant. That's what EVERYONE should ALWAYS have on-hand in one of these areas. San Francisco, Ft Walton Beach, Izmir Turkey...doesn't matter. Water, food, shelter, meds(both required and emergency), money, then recreation. I'm making a stop at the county Library after dropping Chuck off at work tonight...
WHen I go to bed tonight I'll check the weather reports to see whether I need to take anything down, otherwise I'll wait until tomorrow morning to take down the feeders, hanging plants and windchimes for storage in the shed until "The Drunken Russian" has Passed...
Frith,
Pat
