9 Wort Charm, et al

mdehnersI really appreciate the folks over at ASHmail to help me with the 1st Herb in the 9 Wort Charm from the Lacnunga. The only part I didn't really "get" was the "Power against 3 and against 30" passage. The consensus of those Worthies is that it is a phrase meaning "quite a lot", or as we would say today, "a shitload";>.
Mugwort, according to the CHarms an active agent, both fighting toxins and keeping away "contagion". According to folklore(and Mrs Grieves:>), Mugwort is one of those all-purpose Herbs.
Using the Ancient Beleif that Disease by Unseen Entities(as opposed to the Modern Beleif that it is caused by Unseen entities;>)Mugwort's Active Protective nature(Driving away instead of a Passive Shield)certainly makes sense. Also,properly prepared it does Cleanse the system, flushing away Toxins.Also, the alcoloid in Mugwort is not that dissimilar to thymol, which is well-known as bacteriacidal....
On another subject, I had an "Interesting" conversation with two DIsir. I was a bit Confused because, well, there were two of them! One was of my Family, the Other of Chuck's. The problem/reason was that we are Married. Disir are Powerful Beings and when Two Joined in Marriage, due to Human Convention, the Woman became Assigned to the Man's. Well, appearently there hasn't been a lot of Gay Heathens Marrying and their is no Precidence to guide Them. Since both are Equals(Strength, Nobility,etc)until things get worked out(further up the Line;>), They're both in charge of us. As Above, so Below....
