mdehnersWas able to give my Dad a bit of a "gift" yesterday. Before his Alzheimer's got going, he used to do a lot of Wood and Metalworking as a hobby. One of his last endevours were decorative Lightning Rods. In fact, we had his last work put on our roof last month...just in time.
Well, Monday we had a bad storm. I thought we'd had a near strike because the last time the house was hit, it blew most of the electronics, even on protection and tripped the Transformer. We just lost Power for a few seconds. Yesterday, I noticed that it felt awful warm in the house and noticed that we were up in the mid 80'sF. A service call discovered that while Dad's rod protected everything inside the house, the AC unit outside WASN'T. Even a layperson can tell what charred bits mean;>.
Needless to say, I had to tell my Dad and it made his day. It also made his day today as well since he'd already forgotten by this AM....
