mdehnersIt never ceases to flabbergast me(betcha haven’t heard that term in a while;>) how folks who, when faced with pretty much ANY other subject would turn to a manual/professional/etc but when that subject is Spiritual decides that either they Know more OR Choose to take the advice of someone with little REAL background on the subject...then get “Pissy” when things don’t work out “To Their Highest Good”…
If you have serious computer questions, talk to someone, read a manual by a computer person…someone that Knows the Programs and Code that your particular machine uses. You don’t get your barber to do it, even if they happen to have one.
If you have a lump in your breast, you contact a Cancer, preferably Breast Cancer Professional. You don’t decide that since it’s "your body" that you would “Know” whether it’s Malignant or not, you see someone who could. And you damned sure don’t get advice from someone whose Renfaire “persona” is a Gypsy or somesuch.
But come the subject of Spirit and soooo many decide that THEY Know more than all the written Info about that particular form over the centuries, or that the gal/guy who had the neatest silver/amber jewelry at a gathering/con/moot/etc does. They say that those that refuse to learn from History repeat IT. Well, that goes just as well for Spirit. If a People’s Mythology state at a Being or Class of Beings is Woeful and you decide that they aren’t and end up getting Fucked over Royally….don’t Blame anyone but yourself. There is, not Newage BS withstanding, a class of Beings whose only PURPOSE is to stop you from REPEATEDLY jumping into a pit of staving Hyenas because you CHOOSE to Believe that they’re friendly Puppies…
Free Will is just that, certainly for those of us over Puberty. You CHOOSE whether to use Common Sense or not to. Here’s some Helpful Hints:
If this was a Person doing/Saying it, would you Listen? Would you do it?
If “it” was a Physical problem, would you ignore info by professionals or check it out?
If you’re Working within a particular Mythology and you are Experiencing things that are at Odds with that Mythology, don’t Assume that you Know more than those that LIVED that Mythology as part of their culture. Assume that YOU took the Wrong “turn”, not centuries of that particular People…
If bitten once by a snarling animal/punched by a person/Raped by a person/etc, would you Choose to continue to place yourself in the same EXACT situation? Repeatedly?
God/desses are Powerful Beings with Important “Jobs” to do. Do you really Think they have nothing better to do than pull Pranks on you? If a Being’s acting like a Primary school bully, it’s NOT A GOD/DESS, even if it says it is. Just because something doesn’t have a body doesn’t automatically make it a God/dess…or Smart….or Wealful.
Dead People are just that…Dead People. If someone was an Ass when Alive, they ain’t going to be an Angel now that they’re not.
The Gullible will Assume anything that shows up IS who they Wished would. You wouldn’t open up and let ANYONE who showed up at your front door in because you Invited Mom now, would you? Then WHY do the same thing Spiritually?
