Knowlege vs. Faith....

mdehnersI have a number of "Woo-less" friends, some of whom think having "It" would solve so many problems. In Truth, it causes as many as it cures.
One big one is that it Limits you. Yes, LIMITS. Faith allows you to Beleive stuff you don't Know is True or not. This also allows you to "squeak" by Emotionally when you aren't acting up to your Potential. After all. you don't "Know" that any of it is Real, right?
For someone used to "Seeing Dead People" or dealing with the aftermath of Diety-Intrusion,there IS NO DOUBT. This means that you can't let things "slide" that the Faithful CAN. After all, when an Accounting of their Life's Actions comes, they have the excuse that they didn't KNOW if what they were doing was real or simply Mental Masturbation. Not so for the "Woo-full". After all, when Ingui Frey or Jeshua ben Jusef drops in for a "chat", it's a bit hard to doubt their Existance and thier "Stuff". Sure, what you have of their Wants were written by and copied many times by ordinary Humans but still....
Faith is Freeing by allowing one a personal "escape clause". This is a Freedom sometimes I REAAAALLLLYYY Envy.
