Movie Review....

'The Color of Magic'. When I heard they'd made this, my least favorite of Terry Pratchett's "Diskworld" books, I was annoyed. After all, there are so many better ones...like ALL OF THEM. It's also the book that introduced my least favorite character of the books, Rincewind "The Wizzard"(because that's what his hat says). Lazy, Venial, Boorish,Dishonest and Cowardly, Rincewind has the likeablity of VD. Luckly, the British actor (more well known from the "Last of the Summer WIne' series) who plays him makes this piece of crap at least sympathetic.
A great cast makes this otherwise dreadful book worth renting. Jeremy Irons has a ball playing Vetinari, the ruler of the WOrld's biggest city as a Bond Villain and Time Curry as the backstabbing(sometimes literally)Wizard killing his way up the Corporate Ladder...what else can we say;>. It's worth renting just watching these two. The usual cream of BBC Character actors fill out the cast. The WORST choice was Sean Austin of 'LOTR' fame as Twoflower, the World's 1st Tourist. Needless to say, they changed the original Asian Urban Explorer with an American. I will say that it could have been worse.
Rent it. Though remember, like 'The Hogfather', it was originally seen on two nights....
