Grow Up!

I Wish that the qualities that lead us to our present Ways(Heathenry, Wicca, Paganism), an Open mind, dissatisfaction with being told how to Believe, a Sense of Wonder so often also means Emotional Immaturity. It’s not unusual for me to think during any prolonged exposure to many Recon/Inspirationalist folk, “Godz! Act your age, not your shoe size!”.
Contrary to Popular Belief, the Ancestors didn’t act like 6 yr olds on a playground. They were Adults. They had responsibilities. They Knew their Actions Influenced those around them. Selfish, Petty or Childish Behavior lead to Disaster and/or Death. ‘Course, nowadays there isn’t that hanging over the heads of most folks. Petty squabbles and posturing generally just lead to hurt feelings and poorly run groups…which collapse, infecting others with those same petty grievances. A good rule of thumb IMO is Behavior that the average parent would find unacceptable in a 7 yr old is VERY UNACCEPTABLE in a 30+ yr old....
Different Ways tend to have different foci of Immaturities. Wicca and Paganism tend toward a 6 yr old Girl’s POV. Heathenry to a 6 yr old Boys. Both are beneath Adults because, well they ARE ADULTS!!!
Listen to your Words, Watch your Actions, Read your Posts. See them as a Stranger would. See them as a Parent would as if it was from one of their kids in a Public Place. Act accordingly….
