A lot of folks do New Years Resolutions. I don’t. One big reason is that they come close to Oaths and I take them VERY SERIOUSLY. I’ve never Understood, even before “Coming Home” to Heathenry how many have no problem making them one minute and breaking them the next, as if there was no Consequence to that Act. ‘Course, looking at their Lives, you can oft tell whose Word means little….
Instead of Resolutions, I “do” Motivations. What do I want to experience in the next year. Last yr I took off;>. A DEFINITE one is that of Physical Fitness. I now get “winded” doing things that I used to breeze through.
Starting next yr I’ll make it a point to get back into Walking every AM before Breakfast. My basic diet is actually very good(much to the annoyance of the clinic’s Nutritionist, looking for reasons why they should keep her around;>). My biggest has come about since Chuck’s Snacking migrated into the realm of stuff I like! Tortilla and Frito chips I can ignore easily(bleegh!!!), donuts and cake?!?! Also, as bad as it is for me, it’s time to allow artificial sweeteners back in. Raw Sugar has minerals and vitamins but it’s not like those few nutrients were the only source in my diet after all.
On the Spiritual Side, I’m going to do a lot more Perceiving than studying Lore….not that I’m going to stop, mind you. Just start paying more Attention to the Actions of the Non-Physical around me. ‘Course, Lore gives me a great source for suggestions on what to Look for;>! Can’t remember the name of it now, but that fishy “critter” a while back was described quite well in VIII of Grimm’s ‘Teutonic Mythology’. A section I HADN’T read before I’d Seen it “tromping” across my lawn..
Truth,
Pat.
