A column in our low-cal paper pushed on of my many buttons. It was a woman complaining about the lack of "good, old-fashioned moral values" in men. What made this esp Irritating to me was that this was due to men trying to pick her and her "girlfriends" up while they go Drinking at Known "Pick-Up" bars TILL CLOSING TIME!!!!!!
This is a pet peeve of mine. Folks who go to places they Know have a certain "rep" then get Pissy when they are treated like folks who frequent such places. One of the most annoying things I'd hear when I lived in San Francisco was from Het men I Knew who'd "bitch" that they were "checked out" when they'd go into the Castro. HELLLOOWWW!!!!!!! The only thing worse was the case of a guy that punched a guy for buying him a drink at 'Daddy's', a Gay Biker bar IN THE CASTRO. Then there are women who frequented shops in the Tenderloin, wearing clothes bought there and then getting upset that the "johns" thought someone dressed like a hooker, around hookers, in a place frequented by hookers would be a hooker.
Heathens aren't free of such stupidity. I've Known folks who have got all "Pissy" because they'd got poor service from establishments declaring themselves Christian or "Family Values" who saw the "tats", Runestaves and Sunwheels. If you go into a place Known for a certain clientele or catering to, don't be surprised if you are treated as if you belonged OR that you didn't....
