Why do those that have the most to Lose under Sharia Support those who Wish to Inact it the Strongest? I’ve watched the debate over the last couple of yrs on a number of lists, as well as Media and with Individuals and JUST DON’T GET IT. If a Christian or a Christian country supported active Levitical Law, condemnation is Immediate and, IMO Well-Deserved. Yet, if Muslims and Muslim countries Support spreading Sharia, it is Supported…or at least not Spoken against.
Now, I’m no “Fan” of Christianity of ANY Flavour but those in my communities(GLBT, Pagan, Heathen, etc) actually Believe that Christians are a bigger Physical Danger to them and the Lands they live in than Islam. Yes, Christians used to do EVERYTHING the Muslims now do and yes, some INDIVIDUAL Christians still do but it is no longer “a Cultural Thing”. Folks in Christian countries don’t take the family out to watch the Executions of Homosexuals or women who have had sex outside of Marriage(even if it was Rape…). Women are even allowed to Choose who they marry and are not killed if the husband wants out of the marriage. Is that such a Bad Thing?
I Know. ALL of my communities, with the exception of Heathen have had recent(last 200 yrs;>) trouble with Christians and those in Authority enforcing Christian dogma as Law, but things ARE better today, even in my own Lifetime. When I was in college it was still SOP to raid Gay establishments, even Christian churches that were supportive. This seldom happens today, even in the Bible Belt. Back in my Wiccan days(about the same time;>), you were found out, you lost your job or your home, Gay OR Wiccan(sorry, didn’t Know about Heathenry back then…..). Even as awful as that was, they still couldn’t Kill you. They STILL DO that in EVERY Islamic Nation…
Personally, I’m Tired of the “Everything BAD in the World CAME FROM or was CAUSED BY the West” Attitude. Other than it’s simply not True, it’s Racist and it’s an Excuse to NOT deal with the Real Problems in every country in the world. I’m not a supporter of “Shrubette” or His Iraq “Adventure”. I AM, however of the Afghanistan War, though it’s become in the last 4 yrs Overshadowed/Undersupported/Underfunded/Undereported/etc thanks to that exercise in Stupidity a couple of countries East.
I don’t Know if there is even a Possible Positive Future for the West(The Magic 8-Ball is Uncertain) since those who have the most to Lose spend so much Energy helping those who Wish to Kill them. It’s like watching Jews in the “30’s” supporting the Nazis. History will Repeat if the Anal-Cranial Yoga continues. Luckly for moi, I don’t have kids and every yr still Breathing is a Pleasant surprise (for me as well as my MD’s;>). I’ll fell bad if my niece is forced out of her Profession and has to wear the Burkha but at least I’m not Helping that Future along….unlike many, including her Mother….
