Sometimes I think we get(at least I do) too Symbolic in our Practice. That’s one of the reasons I’m going to try to be more Literal this yr. While I’m not going to Grow at the amt needed to Spin or Mill, I am planting patches of Grain(oats, wheat, rice and barley) and Fiber plants(flax, cotton and kenaf) as well as food crops this yr. While Heathens are better than most Pagans and Wiccans at being “In Tune” with Nature(for one, no Heathen’d be caught dead in Summer-weight fabrics below 55F;>) we still tend to keep it at a distance. Nothing intrinsically wrong with this but there’s something Intellectually Dishonest about “Wilderness Rites” held at a campground with Hot water and showers. ‘Course I feel the same about Healthy folks that go Camping in Uber-RV’s;>…..
