If it wasn't so sad, it'd be funny. Another LJ member whose journal I follow because I thought they had a good head blocked me today. Appearently, my use of Vintage Police pix as Icons is a sign of Nazism. Sure, the LAPD's had problems over the yrs, but I'm pretty sure Naism of an officer wasn't Tolerated, esp during WWII;>.....

It’s sad how Responsibility has become a “dirty word”. I’ve paid attention to this since the early “80’s”. A lot of it can be laid at the foot of the “Self Actualization” movement. A quarter century ago, if you Violated something, (another person, property, law, etc…) you Apologized for Doing so. That’s not the “Rule” anymore. Think about the last few times someone’s Apologized to you. How many times did the above happen? More than likely, the “apology” was not that the other digressed upon you but about how you felt about their Actions. The implication was that the problem was you, not their actions that were….
A Prime example was one that happened over 7 yrs ago. My best friend and roommate at the time left our wedding early. When we got back, we found our home wrecked, drug paraphernalia scattered about(including a syringe in the couch…) and people not just fucking in the apt but in our bed! His response, “I’m sorry you feel that way”. He also took umbrage that I had spoken to him “as if I was a kid”. He was the “victim”;>….
While that was an extreme example, the basics are the same. An apology is about how it made you “Feel”, as if it’s really your problem…not that they did anything really Wrong…
