Spring......
Mar. 13th, 2007 01:58 pmIt looks like Spring is finally here! Sure, we may get another Frost, but not another Hard Freeze. It Feels Good to get out and Work the yard, even if I’m pretty much flat on my back for a couple of days afterwards. It’s Worth it. With the exception of “Poopzilla’s Paradise”(the fenced in part of the back yard for the dog;>), the lawn is done and everything that needs it’s Spring Feeding has been. I still have a bag of manure left…not that the back yard needs any;>!
That old Afghan I threw over part of the Pink Lemon tree during our last Freeze helped, there are a few Blossoms. Now, maybe some Lemons would be nice? The Snow Peach is a total write off though this yr. The Garlics look good, though in typical me fashion I’ve forgotten WHICH variety is which. Not really too big of a problem though. One is a Polish Hardneck from Chuck’s Ancestor’s stomping ground(Krakow) and the other is a Creole softneck. At maturity they’ll be pretty obvious;>……
I still get a “kick” out of the “Bitching” I get about my yard from family and neighbors…not that mine is the Worst in the area, even excluding the Illegal’s homes. When we moved here it looked like a set for a Redneck Comedy bit; Weeds, junk, carparts, beer bottles, etc. Now it’s Green in all ways and, to my Knowledge the only spot in town where there are Wild Orchids, blooming in Drifts every Spring. Of course, it doesn’t look like a Home Depot display, so it’s somehow Wrong. I’ll say one thing, I’ve NEVER Seen a Landvættr about ANY of my neighbor’s homes…..
