Jul. 15th, 2011 01:59 pmNot too long ago on one of my Spiritual lists the question of decreased traffic came up. Now, there's many reasons but one that seems to be most ignored is the basic Truth:
Baby Boomers, Gen Xers and even early Gen-Ys have been Practicing long enough that the easily conferred, "101", etc material is in our Pasts. We're just not Interested in bringing up stuff we learned yrs, even decades ago. A lot of us have stopped taking Students because, well the present culture is too Alien to our preferred methods of Teaching. Our lists are more like coffeeklatches for the same reason, we've been around, done the Beginner's Stuff and are Bored explaining what "Is IS;>.
In a lot of ways it's a Good Thing. As Mature Heathens and Pagans we're Living our Ways, not just Studying and doing THAT isn't really explainable to a Newbie(not that they don't want it done so, easily and taking up little time;>)or to Outsiders. I don't know how many times I've Forgotten and ended up confusing Outsiders on something as "Universal" as Gardening..even the OG folks. When you've LEarned enough to See the World through Heathen or Pagan-coloured "Glasses", it's hard to explain to those that are, basically BLIND.
