And late again. The Gulf Fitillary, a Butterfly that looks a bit like a Monarch-knockoff has arrived in the garden. It used to show up about Summer Solstice but the last couple of yrs it's been arriving later and later. This yr luckly earlier than last. They're laying eggs like crazy(so much so that I can't get a pic of them, they "light" so fast) on the Passionflowers. In fact, they'rethe only thing that keeps them from becoming as big of a neusance as Kudzu. The 'pillars will strip the vines down to buds, stems and fruit by the end of the season, allowing late Summer Sun to plants that would otherwise get NONE.
Cheers,
Pat
