I had a dream about my ex Best Friend last night, pretty much doing what he did in Real Life, leaving me "holding the bag".
The quickest way to lose me as a friend nowadys is to state something like the subject title. After all these decades since Jane Roberts coined the phrase "Create your Own Reality", there have been folks who've taken this Beleif up. Thing is, it only works if they have folks that DON'T. Folks who work at jobs that pay the bills, not "Bring Fullfillment". Folks that are there to feed, selter and rescue them when their "Leap of Faith" or "Spontinaety" has left them without a job or even a home. There's a reason much of the newagers that followed this View in the 60's, 70's and 80's were women....they had husbands to cover their arses.
Mel didn't have a husband, he had a mother and his best friend. For almost two decades I'd either find myself trying to figure out how to cover expenses when he left an "Unfullfilling" Job or decided he was going to joins some event(like "The Great Peace March" in the 80's). After the "Dot Bomb" happened and he realised the only way he could keep up the Lifestyle wa to become an Underground Pharmacist....it was time for me to say Goodbye. Besides, his actions were affecting more than just me now and Chuck didn't sign up to "Help Nurture a Spiritual Being".
12 yrs later and I'm still Angry. Interestingly, I credit my present "Spiritual Service Provider" for me finally dropping my "Soul Pal". Basically, I went from Nurturer to Enabler in a Heathen World View. I'm not willing to stop Nurturing, I am Enabling;>
Cheers,
Pat

This indie flick is worth hunting for(I found it at Netflix)if you like movies that make you think.
John Oldman is a professor who's moving on after 10 yrs of Teaching History. His friends and colleagues ambush him as he's moving out for an inpromptou going away party at which he admits to them that he's done so every decade or so since the last Ice Age...
Cheers,
Pat
