Aug. 19th, 2012 09:57 amWe had dinner over at the folks last night, my brother and his wife were able to come as well. It was a bit amusing a 1/2 hr before we headed over Mom calling to see if Chuck could actually eat what she prepared(he'd had 5 teth pulled last week and doesn't have many others left). The menu was fine(I mean, Dad never wears his teeth so she never fixes anything requiring heavy chewing) but the thought was sweet.
What was kind of unusual was that me and Sandi were on the same page concerning the folks going on another cruise. They've been going on a couple every yr since the early 90's. Problems are:
They're over 80
They've both had mult heart bypasses
Dad has Alzheimers(still functional in familiar environs but unable to converse in long sentances anymore)
Mom requires a scooter and Oxygen
Lots of Meds, some of which require special ordering here in the Florida Panhandle
The last one they were on with Chris and Sandi was "Interesting" and I think Sandi has no Interest going through that again....and I AGREE. If every thing goes well it'll be trying. If not, well. Personally, I don't think they're up to another cruise outside of US waters. But it's their money and their lives.
Cheers,
Pat
