Doohickey Recommendation.....
Feb. 7th, 2013 05:40 amThis is a 1st, me recommending an actual thigamabob!
As I've pointed out ad-nauseum, I have Neuropathy. One of it's many side effects is a marked decrease in dexterity and one of my less fav chores every AM is dealing with coffee filters. For a while we'd switched to the permanent kind but found that after a while, even with frequent dishwasher washings they built up deposits and the next thing you noticed was coffee all over the counter(usual precieded by grounds in your cup).
Well, last week after a particularly annoying attemt to get a single filter out and usable I did a search for some sort of coffee filter dispenser and got a "hit" for "Mac's Coffee Helper". The discription of a dispenser that gave you a single filter each time for about $6.00 seemed worth a try....and boy-howdy was it worth it!
It's just a white plastic container with a spring-loaded spear with a bit of that foam tape you use to put up posters(in fact, they even tell you when it doesn't work anymore just to buy a pack of those;>!). It's one of those "Why didn't I think of that!" ideas we all deal with.
Simple, cheap, useful and made in America. I wholely recommend this doohickey, even for those without dexterity "issues"....
