Apr. 4th, 2013 11:29 amI hung mine up just before I moved to Florida. One of my less than useful attributes is that i have a strong "Fixit" gene. Doesn't matter WHAT it IS, if it's BROKE, I'll try to fix it...esp if a friend asks me. Thing was,even friends aren't perfect and to many times I found myself in the role of Mobile Mine Detector. Someone would ask me to help in a situation and i'd go "Help".If things went well...WELL. If things didn't. Let's just say it's not just politicians good at "spinning" past statements;>!
It was communiative 'cause if it'd been something big that'd done it it'd been when I "helped" a battered woman and her kid and had her change her story to the police...getting me in trouble with my boss(I was working as a nurse at the time)and having her husband shove me around. She DID call me back as if nothing had happened a few months later telling me basically the same story about her husband but this time I told her SHE had to do the calling of the police. Since then I don't get involved in Abuse cases. She wasn't the 1st woman to do that sort of thing to me(though she was the 1st that messed with my work)but she was definitely the LAST. I also don't socialise in Midgard with folks under 30(other than my neice and nephew)and figure if you're over 30, you know enough to get yourself out or find someone else to get you out of your situation. Under 30 I'm willing to beleive you may just not have a "clue". Over 30? You've at least watched the equivalent of one day's worth of TV and know WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
