Aug. 18th, 2013 05:49 amFINALLY!!!!!!!!! After more than a decade of searching, I've found a subtitled copy of 'Tampopo'!!!! If you're one of the Food-Obsessed, you've at least heard of this "80's" flick. A flick, BTW in which a lot of the tricks of "quirky" cinema were 1st showcased...
The centre of the story is a Widow, trying to support herself and her son with her husband's Ramen shop. Unfortunately, being a traditional wife, she knew nothing about either business or cooking other than that of the home. Her food SUCKS.
On one rainy night a Trucker with a serious Ramen addiction stops, saves her son from bullies and tells her WHY her Ramen sucks. Incensed, she throws him out of her shop but by the time he starts his engine she's begging him to teach her. So begins one of the greatest flicks in Food history;>....
