Distress.....
Jun. 9th, 2014 10:43 amAbout a decade ago I noticed that sometimes I had G.I. problems after eating foods with a certain ingredient. At 1st it wasn't very often but the incidences continued to increase till today when it's more likely than not if I eat processed foods with this ingredient. No, it's not Wheat;>. It's CORN.
It never happened when I ate it in it's fresh forms; Cob or Niblet. Only products using Corn flour. A few yrs ago, about the time GMO info began to show up in "The Lamestream Media" I wondered if this might be the reason and went on a GMO Corn-free diet for a couple weeks and noticed NO GI Distress.
Luckily for me, we don't eat much processed food in general so it's easy to avoid at home or at REAL Mexican restaurants. Friends & Family however;>....
It was kinda amusing in a way. My objections to GMO's until this had mostly been Environmental; fukking up the genepools. Still IS my main Objection to them 'cause with all the chem I take as meds to keep me alive "Organic Lifestyle" ain't happening the rest of THIS Incarnation. Still, while our bathroom is a pleasant room I'd rather not spend o much time there;>
Cheers,
Pat
