After the weather of the last 2 months this warm up is welcome, though with reservations(though luckily, once again we live on high ground!). The 'Ugli' Mandarin is planted in the soil and the 'Matsumoto' Persimmon in a container. The Galangal Ginger is the only culinary plant planted, all others are still in pots though some have been potted up. Last night I noticed two Tree Frogs mating on the living room window screen. And today startled a Toad while Watering the plants;>! I also noted a patch of wild violets blooming in my back yard so I dug up a couple of them and planted them in the back courtyard. They don't have scent but the Parmas have more than enough to make up for it.
Hopefully, in a couple weeks I can start some of the Cukes and melons outside as well as the Japanese Morning Glories. They'll do better here with the fenced in courtyards giving a windbreak. 2 new Flowers I'm testing are the White form of the Black Eyed Susan Vine and that of Mignonette. I grew 'Sunset' BES Vine seeds before with good results...and they're Hardy here. I've noticed the main colour for Blossoms is White. I guess I want a "Cool" garden;>....
Cheers,
Pat
