One of the odd consequences, at least in our home is the discussion on whether we remain Green. I mean, with even the CHANCE of an attempt to SLOW Climate Change derailed, what is the point?
We're bother Retired on Fixed Incomes. I'm "Pink Collar" and Chuck's Food Services so you know our SSI isn't much. Green and Organic products are a big strain on our budgets, esp now that we don't have the space to grow at least some of our own food.
We both never HAD big "Carbon Footprints" in the 1st place and Going Green certainly made that smaller but at what cost to us? In my case, it's be nice to be able to afford again a couple books a yr instead of hoping my brother would download a few from my Wish List onto my Kindle.
We're old, not completely Well and have no children. And since my brother's kids have Disowned them(apparently they treated them too well and have no "Martyr Points" that are so important to Millennials...)so we're not doing IT for the family and with my natural Cynicism being reinforced daily, it's hard to really care much about Humanity in general.
In Truth, the planet's not going to end...we WILL. Once our civilization's toxins break down(or because of it, like in the commix;>)new species will replace the Lost.
Maybe Jordhr will bring forth a future Sentient Species. Then again, would She risk another Us?
Cheers,
Pat
