Spirit Animals....
Nov. 30th, 2016 08:31 amThe modern version I give as much credence to as I do Astrology. It probably has something to do with going to high school with actual 1st Nations folks; a Dine and a Piute. If these two neighboring peoples has such differing worlds, the "Red Universalist medicine Way" was as real as the 'White Universalist Witchcraft" one;>. That said, like Astrology, there's some gems in the pony poop....
For most of my life I considered Wolf to be mine, though being a bit of an "Outdoorsy" type, I knew Wolves are hierarchal pack creatures; sort of like Humans;>. Something I'm NOT. But if you know anything about real Wolves, you know "lone" wolves are not something to be...they are those their packs have driven out because they don't "fit". Which DID. Well, until a few yrs ago.
For most of the last decade I've little Interest in Wolves of ANY sort beyond Conservation. Recently, I had a reaction greater than the Wolves EVER did while "channel-surfing" and caught a special on Owls. So I did some Meditation on them.
One thing I DID notice was that every time my mind tried to find out WHICH Owl species I got what I call The Voiceover where literally a VOICE tells me, "Owls in GENERAL, not Owls in SPECIFIC.". Helpful but not helpful;>.
Oddly enough, they widespread belief worldwide of them as Harbingers of Death made me more comfortable, considering that since the 80's my Primary Deities have been the Morrigu and Hel;>. It was also Interesting that appearantly they were Sacred enough to the local 1st People's here in FLorida that "idols" were made to them.
Something more to explore in 2017....
