Getting there....
Mar. 10th, 2024 03:55 pmWe're back in the apt after a week in a pet-friendly hotel while the new floors were put in. Rocky liked it(the room not the floors;>!). Me? I wish there was a law that required furniture designers and interior decorators spend AT LEAST 24 hrs using them...
Not what I would have picked out for a color but it is nice looking. It's taken almost a week back to get things semi liveable since all but 2 bookcases were particleboard so ALL my books are still boxed as well as knick knacks that went on top of them.
Went through all the boxes and divided everything into 3 piles: Keep, Donate and Toss. My brother was making passive aggressive comments about how many boxes of books I had and mentioning what a pain it was going through my folks stuff when they passed and how much our older brother has(he's older than Chuck). Sigh.
Chuck's stable and was doing well today when I saw him. I try to go every week but when I was in the hotel(in Knoxville) I was no way going to drive from there to where his Home is located(Marysville); about an hr+ drive just to. I don't think he noticed the difference. He just was glad I visited. The nurses all like him and me. I think since I'm one of the few that visits at all, let alone weekly helps. It also means that I'll notice if things aren't going right. They also know I'm a retired nurse and with more than a decade of experience in Geriatrics;>....
Me? I've lost 50#'s since New Years(on purpose) but still have 50 more before they'll operate on my back so...
