mdehnersOn one of my lists a member was complaining about the number of LJ members who have gone friends only.This personally doesn't bother me because LJ is mostly blogs which are a personal thing, not the same as a list. The thing that bothered me was my Impression of the complaint. Liking the person, I read and reread and still came up with the same conclusion, so I must be wrong. I got the impression that they wanted the private Ideas brought out into the light of day, their merits debated and if found wanting, dropped.
The thing is, I've friends from very different views from the Mainstream of Heathenry and from each other. Some have Ideas that I find Alien but as long as they aren't forcing me to do it their way, it's OK. I KNow plenty of folks that think that Beleifs and Views like theirs are wrong and fight those who say that these are mainstream Heathen Views. Again, personally I just say that they aren't "mainstream" Heathen and that's that but I do Know that there are folks that don't like "heretics". 'Course, some of these Alt-Beleif folks haven't helped their cases either.I think that what someone does in their own Practice is between them and the Regin. As a group, you can decide what IS the group view. Outside of your group? There's nothing you can do. The only thing is is to be Honest about it. Folks that purport their personal stuff AS a maninsteam Heathen view when they Know full well they aren't are not Good People. They truly deserve a soggy, serpent-infested home.....
