Adventures in Pop Culture...
Jun. 20th, 2008 07:31 amMy brother got my folks a new Tivo and hooked us up with the old one. One area it certainly "wins" over VHS is the collecting of Pop culture material...which I will "share" with you:>!
'Shin Chan'- the Japanese 'South Park', both more "adult" and more "infantile"
'Robot Chicken'-Stop motion Animation using old Action Figures....though the idea that there once were 'Golden Girls' action figures is FRIGHTENING.
'Squidbillies'-Says it all. Every stereotype of Poor White folks except done by Octopi...
'The Oblongs'- a modern version of 'The Munsters'...
'Venture Brothers'- a knock-off of the old 'Johnny Quest' except the professor is a dick and the kids are Retarded...at least Socially;>. 'JQ' characters pop in for Homoerotic moments, rehab and Hajii running an outsourced credit card payment sweatshop. Professor Venture keeps a cloning lab with back-ups of his sons since they get themselves killed off regularly...
Something NOT from the late night weirdness but with possible potential is 'The Middleman', a 'Get Smart' X 'Men in Black' comedy safe to watch with your kids...
Cheers,
Pat
