Finally;>!
Jul. 5th, 2008 12:05 pmI Harvested the 1st of the 'White WOnder' Watermelons for the holiday. It's the 1st Watermelon I've grown here to reach that maturity, so in itself it was a winner but when you add in the taste....It's a WINNER!
'WW' is one of those "Icebox" melons that was developed back when we HAD Iceboxes;>. A 3-5 pounder, it has crisp, sweet white flesh...slightly different than the red fleshed. So, not only will it be grown next yr, I'll try one of the Yellow-fleshed ones as well.
As for the bland Thai Golden MElons, I've ecided to leave them on the vine until they come off easily. Since with the exception of it's blandness it was a success, I'll try other Asian melons...
Cheers,
Pat
