I was reading an English translation of some European news and an article struck me pretty much Apoplectic. It was about Immigrants whining about areas such as the Gaeltacht and others where the Indiginous languages were Outlawed by French, Englsih or German overlords and Preserving those Languages have become badges of Honor. Immigrants from former French colonies do not Appreciate that they've moved to an area that doesn't speak French, or English. They consider these cultural Pride symbols Racist and Oppressive....all the while calling for the same Rights in their Homelands. There's something "Whiffy" about someone who bitches about "foreigners" forcing them to speak their languages and act their customs in their Homelands yet when THEY move to an area that was as oppressed(at least Linguistically and culturally)...Dbl Standard time. Of course, their cultures and languages are real, as opposed to those of the Celtic, Slavic, etc Minority language speaking areas...they're Euros.
