WTF Trees 2009 continue....

mdehnersI'm being exceeding Blonde this yr in making it's "WTF is THAT you're growing" Woody Division. I can't decide between an Atemoya, a Sapodilla or a Carambola. The Atemoya is that thing that shows up for $4.00 ea about once a yr that looks like someone crosses an Artichoke with an Avocado. The Sapodilla shows up in Latin groceries and it's also the tree which Chewing Gum came from originally (Chicle-Chiclets;>?). The Last is the Starfruit. All need protection, at least for the next couple of yrs.
The At produces the least. The Sap and Caram, esp the latter are known for consistant bumper crops. Thing is,knowing my family they've gone from being Adventurous eaters to Midwest Bland so it'll be mostly me eating, which gives the At the edge. Price wise, the Sap is twice the price of the others;literally, I could get both for the price of one(which is another thought;>).....
