I've NEVER understood not being able to do basic Cooking. I mean, a cookbok is nothing more than an instruction manual for making meals! I've known folks that don't blink at the manuals for computers or "needs assembling" furniture yet a simple recipe freaks them out. Don't Get It At All.

My older brothers were/are(one Passed last yr)like that. It's one of the reasons early on that Mom saw the signs and made me and my younger brother responsible EACH for a meal each week once we each hit our tweens.
As I said before, an instruction manual is an instruction manual, whether you're putting together an entertainment system or a meal....
