SNAFU

Every yr or so someone in Public Health comes up with a way to "save money"(translation:spend less on clients. They NEVER cut their own stuff and usually come up with a way to grow their unit/dept)and every time things are screwed up for a time. This time they've out done themselves with me being out of two of my aids Meds for the last 5 days.
1st "bump" was that the program didn't start until the 1st of Jan, no matter WHEN your perscription ran out.
2nd was that they didn't have the Meds in stock
3rd was that they ordered them and Monday was a holiday
4th was that they didn't get the Meds restocked
and 5th, today when the actually filled out my perscription we found out that the program doesn't recognise my ID and the only "Help" CVS Pharmacy has(I know, if I had any other choice....)is their automatic fill line. I contacted the health dept(whose Masters in Tallahassee came up with this BS program and probable kickback to Scott & Co)and they said they'd work on it form their end.
Ah, the joys of living in a Red State. Social Darwinism as a Party Platform....

Ugh. You had a week's worth in reserve as I recall, but nobody can prepare for this kind of neglect :-( I'm sorry.

And it still continues. I just called the Pharmacy and according to them NOW I can pay the co-pay and get them. The problem was that the program is to PAY the co-pay. I'm on SSI and can't afford $500.00 a month in co-pays. The Health Dept said they'd call the capital to see what's going on. Considering our gov as a hospital owner used to through folks out and stop care if they couldn't pay, I'm hardly surprised...
Maybe it's a Sign that I'm Due to be Deleted from the Midgard Hardrive...
