The "Nones".......
Jan. 27th, 2013 11:35 amIt's been kind of amusing to me hearing the Whining of Christians and Boasting of Atheists about the studies that show a large population of Americans check "None of the Above" on these quizes about religion. The thing is, at least in those quizes I've gotten, the way these questions are written make Truth impossible....
Let's take the simplest these things usually ask,"Do you Beleive in God?".
The "G" implies YHVH. Personally, I Beleive He exists. AND that's as far as I go with Him;>. So, I'd be checking Yes", though I'm FAR from a Christian! The question the way it's written doesn't allow for those who Follow other Dieties. So someone who is not of a JCI Faith may check "none" or "no". This doesn't mean they're Atheist.
One of my many Pet Peeves is Inaccuracy and these sort of shallow surveys/quizes just annoy me and the Media that hypes their results.
Cheers,
Pat(the Grumpy oLd Guy;>)
