A couple weeks ago at my clinic visit I learned(something that probably they'd known for MONTHS)that Florida had added another "hoop" to "jump" through...documentation of your non-qualification for Medicaid. Florida's is set so low that only folks barely above Homeless in Income qualify, so I didn't from 2002 till 2012....and probably still. But to keep my aids Meds assistance, I have to have now a yrly note from State that I still AREN'T. If this isn't degrading enough, the paperwork is difficult even for me('course, most of the other clients at the health dept have social workers to do their work for them so to them it doesn't stop them texting on their smartphones...). Did it the day after they told me. Last week got a letter telling me I wasn't eligible for Foodstamps(knew THAT) and two forms for my financial and medical records. Today I went to pick up two of my aids meds to find my coverage has been cancelled.
This means until Florida finishes "fiddling" with the paperwork I won't be refilling my aids meds. Luckly, I have 4 more days of those two and about 10 of the other.
Here's to Gov't working!

Yeah. I'll only be out of two of my aids Meds for a couple days before payday. We'll just have to cut the budget again. The saddest thing is that as soon as Florida denies my Medicaid application(like they did back in 02) my assistance will be reinstated. The twisted thing is that it's one Florida dept trying to get another Florida dept to pay for my assistance....

Just part of that whole "Saving the Taxpayer Money" thing. As long as it doesn't happen to someone they know, most folks don't truly give a fuk about those less well off than themselves.
