mdehnersThis charming, entertaining Anime is good....not great. It's not profound/different/etc to create fanboy-type devotion, IMO;>. It is, however just the sort of entertainment folks in my situation NEED.
'ACSR'(doesn't translate well into English;>)is the story of 4 junior high girlfriends, 3 with Psychic Powers. Set in Academy City, a planned community created by the Japanese gov't to train and nurture the cream of their society. The sadly charming thing about this high tech metro is that ALL the technology presented is that which we already have. One of my favs are the wind turbines throughout the city that take the wind gusts generated by highrises to generate Electricity FOR them. Obviously, with a super CCTV type system there's no worry about helicopters hitting them;>!
The "Railgun" referred to in the title is the Power of one of the girls. She has the power of manipulating magnetic fields and takes coins and accelerates them at tremendous speed. Considering a coin the size of an American nickel creates a crater that you could lose a bus in, fairly fast....
A "Potato Chips" type Anime...yummy but with little substance actually taken in.
