Stuff-N-Nonsense....
Jan. 19th, 2014 10:49 amThis week's computer problems reminded me how balanced on a knife's edge our world is. Personally? I'd say at least 70% of what's happened in my life for the last decade is stored electronic....a good Solar Flare from Oblivion.
On the Positive side, my switching liturgical languages from Old Norse to Old English has been surprisingly Insightful. I shouldn't be surprised though. It's not "rocket science" to realize language shapes the "lens" you "see" your world through. 'Course, the "fun" thing this time studying OE is that I have more than one author's Work and each basically teaches a slightly different "dialect". For some reason I prefer the one in Mitchell and Robinson's Work. And since the last speaking OE person has been dead centuries before Shakespeare;>....
I now look fondly back on the days when Boo-Boo used to wake us up before 0500 since we have two cats that thing breakfast should be served before 0300;>. If the Wrestling match does get me up, the MAW!!!ing will. Then Chuck sleeps another 2 hrs;>.
Dragging the Cymbidiums Orchids into the house during these Freezes(they can handle temps to Freezing but not under. most yrs I just throw a blanket over them but this yr...)has triggered the early production of flowerbuds. I should have a couple sprays for Mom in a couple of weeks.
Cheers,
Pat
