Movie Review: 'The House'....
Feb. 14th, 2014 09:36 amThis metaphysical animated Korean movie is strangely attractive...esp. IMO to Heathens and Pagans, though the worldview is DEFINITELY not Western;>.
A Proud but Shallow young woman is forced to move in with an old schoolfriend when she loses everything in the stockmarket. Dreaming of Upscale housing(visible from her window),she is bitter and caustic about all around her. After a run in with a local stray cat which leaves it's jeweled collar behind, she decides to wear it as a bracelet. The cat, however is the physical vessel of the local Land God/Spirit and while wearing it she can interact with the local metaphysical community....much to this no-nonsense woman's dismay.
Sweet, Sad and Interesting in that Korean Spirituality is not well-represented in the popular Western experience.
Worth finding...
Cheers,
Pat
