Hearing the reports that the 1st thing people have been doing since Gas prices dropped is to buy gas-guzzlers just reinforces my Belief that Humans are truly too self-absorbed and stupid to remain much longer on this planet....

I once had a conversation with my boss about our diesel VWtdi. She was convinced that we were "wasting money" because diesel is more expensive. In vain did I try to explain the math that if we get twice the gas mileage, diesel fuel would have to be more than twice as expensive than standard petrol before this would be a bad deal.

And then one of my son's friends told me that it was against his morals to drive a gas-efficient vehicle, because real Americans drive trucks.

And then I learned about coal rolling/rolling coal.

Hopefully the TSTL will manage to do themselves in before they take the rest of the planet with them.
