mdehnersWhen I heard a movie had been made of this popular Anime, I was not expecting much. Previous viewings of such were at best mediocre. Maybe because they had been made by Americans because this Japanese offering is quite good.
Set a century in the future, it's the story of the survivors of Humanity's decimation by giant, regenerating humanoid creatures that prey on people. Mankind has retreated behind fortifications and an anti-technology movement in the early days has left them basically Steampunk. In Japan, an outer wall breach has them lose their agricultural base and a group of specially trained warriors have been sent out with the last of their explosives to seal the breach....
Very good, even if you're a fan of the series.
